Every few seasons a young player arrives on the Premier Padel tour and makes the established pairs look nervous. In 2026 that player is Aimar Goñi. He is 20 years old, almost two metres tall, left-handed, and he now has his very first NOX signature racket: the Nox Ventus Attack 12K XTREM by Aimar Goñi 2027. From A1 star to starting again at zero
Aimar built his early career on the A1 Padel circuit, where he was competing with and beating experienced professionals while still a teenager. He had climbed close to the top of that tour when it folded unexpectedly. That left him with just 3 FIP ranking points and a long road up the Premier Padel ladder.
Most young players would need years to recover from that. Aimar needed a few months. In late 2025, partnering the experienced Argentine Lucho Capra, he reached the quarterfinals of the Tarragona P1 and knocked out Spanish legend Paquito Navarro on the way. Speaking to Padel Addict afterwards, he did not hide his ambition: "I believe my ceiling is very high."
2026: the breakout season
In early 2026 Aimar teamed up with fellow Spaniard Edu Alonso, a friend he had trained with for years. Within weeks, the new pair was upsetting the biggest names on tour.
Good to know: Edu Alonso is also a NOX signature player, with his own 2027 racket: the Nox Ventus Hybrid 12K XTREM by Edu Alonso 2027. It's a teardrop shape with a medium-hard feel, built for advanced all-round players who want control and power in one frame.
- Asunción P2 (May): beat Martín Di Nenno and Momo González, then took down third seeds Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to reach Aimar's first Premier Padel semifinal, where they met Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto.
- Málaga P1 (July): seeded 11th, they beat fifth seeds Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in what the Spanish press called one of the matches of the season. Their reward was a quarterfinal against world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia.
- Paris Major (September): at one of the four biggest events of the year, they beat Madrid finalists Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas 6-4, 6-3 to set up a quarterfinal with Galán and Chingotto.
Beating top-five pairs at a P2, a P1 and a Major in one season is not luck. It is the sign of a player who belongs at the very top, and he has only just turned pro on this tour.
Why he is so exciting to watch
The smash. At 1.95 m with a big left arm, Aimar's overhead is his trademark. His coaches describe it as a natural gift rather than something drilled into him, and he can finish points from the back of the court or send the ball out of the cage when he needs to.
Power and intensity. NOX describes his game as aggressive, explosive and intense. Alongside Edu Alonso the pair plays a dynamic, spectacular style that is great to watch and very hard to play against.
A long-term project. Both players came up through A1 Padel before moving to Premier Padel, and they talk openly about building for the long run rather than chasing quick results. As Edu put it on NOX's own channel: "Pressure is a privilege that good people have."

Joining Team NOX
NOX signed Aimar in March 2026 as part of its push to back the next generation of international talent. For him it was a childhood dream: "For me it is an honour to join Team NOX. It's a brand that I've known all my life, since I was a child."
He spent 2026 playing with his partner's EA10 Ventus Attack. For 2027, NOX has handed that racket over to him and rebuilt it around his game, while Edu moves to his own new signature model, the Ventus Hybrid 12K XTREM.
